David’s story tells of much wrangling among the Memorial Committee, of a famous Dinner in Amiens in November 1917, not far from the front and yet attended by the Headmaster, and includes some emotional passages, so you may wish to follow David’s example by bringing your handkerchief.

Jake Wallis Simons: Thursday 7 October, 7.00pm 
Editor of The Jewish Chronicle, Jake has written four novels. He writes for The Spectator and was Foreign Editor for the Daily Mail, reporting from conflicts in the Middle East. He can frequently be seen on Sky News and heard on Radio 4.

Tim Christopherson: Friday 8 October, 7.00pm 
The Power of Nature to Help Solve the Climate Crisis
Head of Nature for Climate Branch, UN Environmental Programme (UNEP). He is a Chair of a global Partnership of 30+ leading organisations including World Bank, United Nations, Governments, and private sectors.

Frederick Hervey-Bathurst: Saturday 9 October, 2.00pm
Tour of the Castles of Wardour 
We will visit both the ruins of the medieval Old Castle, and the glorious Catholic chapel of the New Castle. We will meet at Wardour Castle (near Salisbury); further details will be sent to those interested.

Friends Studium: Wednesday 13 October, 9.00am-12.30pm 
A series of lectures in College
Speakers include Baroness Morgan, former Secreary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport; Wasfi Kani, founder of Grange Park Opera; Kate Phillips (Controller of Entertainment at the BBC); Nick Jenkins (founder of Moonpig); Colonel John Blashford Snell (founder of Operation Raleigh). The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP: Thursday 14 October, 7.00pm
Politics in 2021
Jeremy Hunt has been the MP for South West Surrey since 2005. He is a member of the Conservative Party and served as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs. and was a candidate for leader of the Conservative Party in the 2019 leadership contest. 

Dr Will Tosh: Tuesday 19 October, 7.00pm
Dr Will Tosh (a Research Fellow/Lecturer at The Globe) will be addressing us on the topic of the history plays, with a particular focus on Henry V.
