The Shedden Bursary Fund for Quiristers

Lady Lupton, Chairman of the Quirister Appeal, would like to thank everyone who has generously supported the Appeal. The Shedden Bursary Fund was established in 2009 to ensure that any boy could benefit from a choral education, irrespective of his parent’s financial means.

A choral education provides the student with a sense of community, pride, discipline and confidence and, of course, a musical knowledge and appreciation which will last a lifetime. There are currently six boys in receipt of bursarial support, costing Winchester £45,400 this year.

An endowment of £1.5million has now been secured in cash and pledges, which means that an income stream for bursaries will be available in perpetuity.

Further donations to the Fund are always appreciated. The larger the endowment, the more income there is available to support Q bursaries.

If you are a UK or USA tax payer, the simplest way to donate, tax efficiently, is online.
