The Wykeham Patrons group was launched in June 2009 and since then has evolved into a body of generous supporters of the school.
Members of the Wykeham Patrons group contribute significantly to everything that Winchester values. The Patrons help:
- to afford the widest possible access to boys regardless of background, so that they can benefit fully from the school's outstanding education
- to maintain and improve the school's unique listed buildings
- to retain the Quiristers, who have served the school since its foundation in 1382.
Patrons enjoy these special privileges:
- they receive invitations to special cultural and other events, both in the UK and further afield
- the private use, by arrangement, of venues at Winchester College
- direct personal contact with those who are shaping the school's future
- invitations to events with the Warden, Sir Richard Stagg KCMG (G, 1969-73) who is the Senior Patron.
To become a Wykeham Patron, a pledge to donate a minimum of £5,000 per annum over a five-year period is expected.
