An evening with Robin Osborne, Professor of Ancient History at the University of Cambridge

Professor Osborne is one of the country’s best-known Greek historians. He has published numerous articles and books, including Greece in the Making (1996) and Athens and Athenian Democracy (2010). He has pursued his particular interest in the light art can shed on history in books such as The Transformation of Athens: Painted Pottery and the Creation of Classical Greece (2018). His talk will take inspiration from Winchester’s splendid collection of Greek vases and casts.
