Winchester's Two Cloisters

George Saumarez Smith (B, 1986-91) is an architect, living and working in Winchester and regarded as one of Britain’s foremost classical architects.  In an illustrated talk, George compared Cloisters, the medieval cloister completed in 1395, with War Cloister, completed in 1924.  Bringing a wealth of professional knowledge and experience to the subject, George explained what it is about War Cloister that makes it for him, the finest building in the College.
