Old Wykehamist v Old Berkhamstedians Football

Unfortunately the game was lost 3-0 to a good Berkhamstedians side. The game started off evenly with both teams trying to work each other out. The OWs had a few chances at the start of the game but failed to capitalise on them and were punished when Berkhamstedians took the lead from the penalty spot. Once Berkhamstedians took the lead they never looked back. They sat in a low block with 5 defenders and were hard to break down. Just before the end of the first half they doubled their lead. The OWs had to score quickly in the second half to stand a chance. Despite all their possession, they did little to threaten the Berkhamstedians goalkeeper and the away manged to score a 3rd on the break. A disappointing end to a cup campaign that had barely gotten underway. However, the focus is now on the league and with 7 games played we sit 1st.
