Drinks in Moberly Court followed by a lecture on Florentine sculpture of the Renaissance by Douglas Lyndon-Skeggs
Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Winchester College, water now plays in the fountain of Moberly Court.
The fountain, outside the Headmaster's Study, was given to the College by Montague Rendall, Headmaster (1911-24) along with other Renaissance copies to create an Italian-inspired garden nicknamed 'Montefiasco' by the boys.
Join us for drinks in the beautiful surroundings of Moberly Court to celebrate the restoration of the fountain followed by Douglas’s talk on Renaissance sculpture.
Douglas who read fine arts at Magdalene College Cambridge, has lectured on art and history since 1980. He is the author of several books, has created TV documentaries, and was a former director of The New Academy of Art Studies.
