What to Expect
You are invited to take part in an unusually interactive session on CATALYST’s own learning platform, where we will explore the meeting point of language, machine learning, and the ways in which AI produces meaning.
This is not a webinar, nor something to join on a phone while travelling. The evening is designed as an immersive experience: you will move through the platform, engage in conversation using proximity-based chat, and examine ideas side by side with other Old Wykehamists and members of Win Coll Soc. In this environment the architecture of Large Language Models, and the neural networks beneath them, becomes something you can test and question rather than passively observe.
We have shaped the evening to honour the spirit of Div: disciplined inquiry; intellectual play; and the pleasure of thinking with others. It is also a chance to see how CATALYST has adapted that same ethos for a global cohort of young students.
We hope you will join us for a distinct and thoughtful online experience, one that reflects both the seriousness and the curiosity that defined your time at Winchester.
Please watch this short message from Justin Pinnells as an introduction.
