In July, Will Henman (B, 2015 - 20) and his friend, Oscar, will be attempting to swim from Switzerland to France across lake Geneva (13km) in order to raise money for Beat, the UK's largest eating disorder charity. Beat supports individuals with an eating disorder, such as anorexia and bulimia, as well as supporting their friends and family.
Food eating disorders continue to be a major illness with up to 3.4 million people in the UK being affected by an eating disorder. This cause is especially close to Oscar’s heart with his cousin having been in and out of hospital during the last couple of years with severe anorexia and he has seen first hand the devastating effects of the disease for all involved.
Food eating disorders continue to rise amongst young individuals, with around 24% of university students suffering from some form of eating disorder during their time at university (National Eating Disorder Association).
