D W Rogers (Coll, 1958-63) has completed a part-time DPhil in the Oxford History Faculty with a thesis based on the correspondence of C F Andrews, E J Thompson, and V H Elwin, originally missionaries in India who became supporters of the Independence movement, developing close friendships with Gandhi, Tagore. and Nehru. Three Collegemen, Basil Gould, Frank Thompson, and Archibald Wavell, make appearances in the thesis, which is available on line at https://ora.ox.ac.uk/objects/uuid:83d8a412-b8d0-4b06-a054-8f061ea3620c
