DIV: TIME, SPACE AND FREEDOM TO THINK DIFFERENTLY

In a world increasingly defined by subject silos and exam-focused learning, Div offers pupils the rare opportunity to explore big ideas across disciplines, without the pressure of grades. It is a space for intellectual risk-taking, debate, and discovery.

Pupils receive up to six lessons of Div per week, nearly the equivalent of an A-Level.
Taught by subject experts, Div is rooted in the arts and humanities and develops cultural literacy and broad intellectual awareness.
Div fosters the confidence to challenge conventions and the intellectual rigour required of future leaders.

IMMERSIVE LEARNING: OUR CAMPUS AND COLLECTIONS

Winchester’s historic buildings and extraordinary collections are not just beautiful, they are integral to how we teach.

Pupils handle Shakespeare’s First Folio, ancient Greek vases, and rare scientific artefacts.
Our collections and spaces provide a tangible connection to centuries of cultural and intellectual development, helping pupils understand that their lives are part of a bigger story.

OUR DONS

Winchester’s dons are mentors, scholars, and custodians of a unique educational tradition. They bring subjects to life, guide pupils through Div, and foster a culture of inquiry and respect.

Many dons are active researchers, bringing fresh perspectives into the classroom.
Their passion and scholarship inspire pupils to think beyond boundaries and pursue original thinking.
